Constructional features

Lathe Bed : The lathe bed is designed to the specification which provides, great strengh to resist torsonal strains. It is made from closed grain alloy cast iron to resist wear and maintain accuracy over a long period. The two inverted "V" and flat ways of the bed are accuranately machined and ground maintainnig the parallesium throughout.

Head Stock : The strongly constituted head stock is of tractional and stream lined design. The spindle is made out of high tensile steel and precisionly ground it runs on high precision antifriction taper roller bearings. Drive belt from counter affixed to rear side of headstock, provides smooth and quiet operation for life time.

Carriage : The carriage has large bearing surface minimising the force per unit bearing area and hance wear on the bed ways. It is guided for High accuracy and positive aligenment by the inverted V and flat ways. Wedges are provided to facilate the adjustment to be made for compensation of wear.

Fool Proof Apron : The Apron box is sturdy and double walled construction. It is provided withsafety inter lock, which prevents simultanous engagements of feed and threading mechanisam. Both the sliding and surfacting feeds can be enaged by tightening the star knob and accordingly setting the position of the feed lever.

Tall Stock : The Tail Stock has long bearing on bed and base is adjustable for taper turning. A standard morse taper spindle hole allows the useof drills and reamers with M.T. Shanks
